Bruchim HaBoim, Blessed are you who arrive here!

Welcome to all who come to this site! If you want to know more about the author, feel free to click on the “About” menu. This site is a work in progress, im yirtzeh Hashem all rough areas will be fixed soon. Otherwise, I hope you gain something from the Divrei Torah written here. Hashem should bless us all with simcha and growth.

This story is meant to serve as a “Mission Statement” of sorts. I’m a chossid following the path of the Baal Shem Tov, and this story is incredibly important to me, in fact it is the reason I’m online doing this work in the first place.

There was a time when the hailige Baal Shem Tov had aliyas haneshomo (“elevation of the neshomo”) and in this state he went to the Heichal HaMoshiach, the Palace of Moshiach. Once he arrived, he saw Moshiach sitting on his throne, and he asked, “Rebbe, why haven’t you come yet? Don’t you see the tzoros Klal Yisroel is having? When will you come?” Moshiach answered him, “I will come when your Torah flows out over the world like water from a wellspring, and every Yid attains the same spiritual heights as you.” After this experience the Baal Shem returned to his body and told the story.

This is the ikar of the Toras HaBaal Shem, that we should attain tremendous levels in avodas Hashem through simcha, and through this bring Moshiach. Most say the first part of the story, that Chassidus should spread over the world, yet neglect the second part, the reason for this I don’t know. We should all merit to attain the levels of the Baal Shem Tov and experience the Geulah Shleimah.

He writes there that before the iniquity of eating from the Tree of Knowledge, the sefirah of Malchus sat…

Sukkos: The Joy of Faith

On Sukkos, we say in the nighttime Kiddush that it is זמן שמחתינו, the time of our joy. The Zohar HaKadosh when talking about this special Yom Tov describes the sukkah as צלא דמהימנותא, the shade of emunah/faith. Seeing that the main mitzva of the full seven days of Sukkos is the dwelling in a…

T’shuva: Essence of Repentance

As we prepare for Yom Kippur, the main theme we are confronted with is t’shuva (return, repentance). The word brings to us thoughts of different types of mortifications, such as fasting and other forms of self-denial; or in many circles the acceptance of additional stringencies in halacha to “make-up” for perceived errors. The general feeling…
